On June 26, GLAAD joined thousands of people at the 2016 New York City Pride March, where dozens of supporters joined us in a tribute to the victims of the anti-LGBT attack on Latin night at Pulse nightclub in Orlando. Over 400 groups and 36,000 people marched in the 46th annual NYC Pride March.

The march, which began with a moment of silence for the 49 people killed in the Orlando attack, ran from 36th Street down to Christopher Street in the West Village.

GLAAD President & CEO Sarah Kate Ellis commented on the importance of this year's march:

"It's a historic day in that it's a year from the [Supreme Court's marriage equality decision] and two weeks from the tragedy of Orlando. Proud to be here. We have to keep on marching."

GLAAD marchers wore the names of the 49 people killed in Orlando on the backs of t-shirts specially designed for this year's Pride march. #WeAreOrlando
